, ,Primary Purpose
The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day management and operation of the Beacon Broadband FTTH Network to include providing technical support to Customer Service Representatives and Technical Service Representatives. The Network Engineer will analyze problems, perform troubleshooting, incident response, communication with clients, drive all problems to a successful resolution, and provide a maintenance schedule and adherence. This role is a critical leader within the Operations team and works in close partnership with the Beacon Broadband Customer Service team to bring the high-speed fiber experience where no one else will go. This is a salaried exempt position and reports to the Operations Director.
Essential Job Functions (Reason position exists is to perform these functions)

1. Research, analyze, configure, install and monitor power equipment, central office equipment, network distribution systems, FTTX, PON, Ethernet facilities and other network systems.
2. Manage daily NOC work assignments and workflows to meet company KPI and performance goals.
3. Support new developments, network relocations, network maintenance and network upgrades.
4. Help produce and manage deployment and upkeep of network documentation, policies, procedures, and MOP’s (method of procedures)
5. Issue detailed drawings and method of procedure instructions for installation and testing of equipment involved.
6. Devise, draft and produce detailed drawings to be used for both record keeping and installation of all engineered equipment and circuits.
7. Provide tier support for Data, Voice and TV to residential and enterprise customers.
8. Recommend equipment for purchase including completing purchase orders, job orders, CPR forms and equipment lists, comparative research results and vendor contract management.
9. Prepare detailed project proposals and budget estimates.
10. Produce accurate troubleshooting guides, after action reports, and root cause analysis in accordance with ITIL standards to support Beacon Broadband’s mission and knowledge management program.
11. Provide recommendations to customers and the Beacon Broadband leadership team to improve the stability of any infrastructure components within the organization.
12. Perform standard moves, adds, and changes (MACD’s) within a Juniper/Calix environment.
13. Lead in the design and implementation of network architecture.
14. Responsible for driving / advocating continual improvement in customer experience to increase brand loyalty through the NOC team.
15. Must meet or exceed department performance goals as developed and reviewed.
16. Develop Network policies and procedures to ensure business opportunities adhere to established processes.
17. Solve business challenges and network problems through effective staff and platform development.
18. Complete required training and development objectives within the assigned period; maintain relevant certifications.
19. Understand overall company vision, align department priorities and activities to reflect and support those goals.
20. Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. This job will occasionally work in remote hub site locations.
Physical Demands
This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required, which would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool, as necessary.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and typical work hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. Will be required to efficiently perform the job duties of this position with mandatory on call rotations, including a presence at designated internal and external meetings. This position will also require availability and accessibility to respond to and address emergencies and critical situations outside of normal business operating hours in the evenings and/or during weekends.
Travel
Some travel throughout the Beacon Broadband service territory to network locations and occasionally to customer homes and businesses. Occasional travel to community events, training seminars and/or conferences.
Qualifications
· Juniper Network Certified Specialist, Service Provider Routing and Switching (JNCIS-SP) certifications preferred.
· 5+ years of senior level network engineering experience with a minimum of 2 years of demonstratable supervisory and leadership experience.
· Strong understanding of routing and switching utilizing Cisco IOS-XR, Calix AXOS/SMx, and Ubiquiti.
· Experience with installation of AC and DC power
· Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices.
· Experience with Fiber to the Home (FTTH/FTTx) PON infrastructure preferred.
· Experience with Cisco UCS Servers and VMWare environments.
· Extensive knowledge of the BGP, OSPF, and MPLS implementations.
· Fundamental understanding of ITIL.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
· Strong MS Office Suite skills.
· Strong skills in GLDS customer information system, Mapcom M4, Alianza, TV Service and Calix.
· Reliable transportation for getting to work.
· Must meet the requirements of pre-employment drug screening and comply with company drug and alcohol policy while employed.
