Primary Purpose

To prioritize safety while providing excellent member service by obtaining and verifying meter data; conducting service point inspections; monitoring idle services and outdoor lights within the assigned territory; and performing all work in accordance with established schedules, safety standards, and procedures.

As established by Cooperative policy, procedures and the labor agreement:

1.      Obtain usage data in a timely manner using the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) system or through field collection when necessary.

2.      Connect, disconnect, install, replace, and verify electric meters.  

3.      Maintain courteous and effective communication with members, ensuring accurate information exchange and timely coordination with supervisor as needed.

4.      Investigate and resolve member high bill concerns and communicate findings as needed.

5.      Participate in required training to maintain job proficiency.

6.      Conduct routine inspections of meter services, service points, and associated equipment to identify damaged, unsafe, or non-compliant conditions.

7.      Document inspection findings using current platform; communicate required repairs to members; maintain accurate account notes and notify the supervisor of conditions requiring follow up.

8.      Monitor assigned idle services, outdoor lighting accounts, and other field assets, documenting findings and reporting discrepancies as appropriate.

Work Environment

This is primarily a field-based position involving outdoor work in varying weather conditions, uneven terrain, and potential exposure to animals and pests.   This role also requires use of field and basic office equipment.

Physical Demands

The physical demands of this position include walking, standing, bending, stooping, lifting, and driving company vehicles during the performance of field and office duties. Work may require climbing ladders, navigating uneven terrain, and performing tasks in confined or tight spaces. Must be able to perform duties for extended periods in outdoor conditions.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and typical work hours are Monday through Thursday 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Coos-Curry Electric Cooperative operates on a four/ten work schedule.

Travel

Ability to travel to the different district offices required.  Occasional travel to training seminars and/or conferences.

Qualifications

1.      High School Diploma or equivalent.

2.      Customer/Member service experience with an electric utility preferred.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

1.      Strong MS Office Suite skills.

2.      Strong customer service skills.

3.      Reliable transportation to report to work and travel between locations as needed.

4.      Valid Oregon driver’s license required.

5.      Must meet the requirements of pre-employment drug screening and comply with company drug and alcohol policy while employed.
